Geotechnical measurements
For evaluation of in situ boundary conditions we perform various geotechnical measurements (e.g. in situ stress and deformation). The following equipment is available:
- Various drilling equipments for probe sampling and to establish measurement boreholes
- Digital borehole camera for borehole diameters greater than 40 mm (e.g. for acquisition of the borehole condition, for investigation of cracks close to the contour, break-out-effects and changes of the material), custom-made-product for the company NICOM Technologie; max. borehole length 120 m
- Hydrofrac probes for in situ stress measurements (borehole diameter 42 mm, 62 mm and 101 mm) with micro-acoustic localisation of crack propagation
- Extensometer and inclinometer for the measurement of ground movements (incremental extensometer and horizontal inclinometer)
- Radial convergence probe for convergence measurement and for stress analysis with unloading method
- Pressure probes and rate-controlled pumps for investigation of transport properties of competent rock and natural fractures, including studies of coupled effects.
